Travis the Chimp was shot by the police who attacked the friend named Charla Nash (age:55) ?of his owner. Sandy Herold who raised Travis as a human stabbed him with a butcher knife in order to protect her friend from the chimp who went berserk.

The ape tried to run away after attacking the woman in Stamford, Connecticut.

Travis was a very lovely pet chimp who even starred in an ad for Old Navy. He enjoyed the company of humans too – he drank wine, surfed the internet and loved other “human” activities.

According to the officials there was no other way to stop the violent Travis and they had to shoot him several times.
